Casa Blanca Lake SP, Site #108

We’re parked at Casa Blanca State Park, just on the outskirts of the city of Laredo.  So close in fact, that you can see the control tower and tails of the jets at the Laredo International Airport across the lake.  Set in this very urban setting, the park is convenient to services and provides excellent cellular & OTA TV signals.  But, it also suffers from it’s popularity – the sites are littered with bottle lids, pieces of paper and cigarette butts everywhere. The camping services are in relatively good repair, each site offers electric and water hookups.    There are also fairly new and clean restrooms on each camp loop along with a large shower house up near the fishing pier.

Last year  we were parked in site #113, this year we’re in #108.  Both are lakeside pull-through sites that are fairly level and easy to access.  Each has a covered picnic table.  #108 seems a bit less private because of a small parking area next to it.  It’s also right across the street from a lighted dumpster, which might be convenient, or annoying.

We’ll spend 1 night here before continuing into the Rio Grande Valley for a few nights stay at Chimney Park RV resort in Mission, TX.  More from there…
